I LOVE villains!
I always have...
They tend to be so much more interesting.
They tend to be so much more interesting.
So here are ten of my favorite villains in no particular order,
I also only chose one per fandom on purpose.
Onward!
Eurus (BBC Sherlock)
Eurus is the secret sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes. Her thinking is completely analytical, not allowing for emotion a majority of the time. She is off the charts intelligent, however she was sent away as a child for killing Redbeard and setting their home on fire. Her voice is the perfect amount of condescension and dryness.
Nogitsune (Teen Wolf)
Teen Wolf overall is a horrible show, but in the second half of season three, they introduced their best villain. The Nogitsune is an evil fox spirit who possesses Stiles (aka the best character of the show). What really makes the Nogitsune or Void! Stiles one of my favorites is Dylan O'Brien's acting. With normal Stiles, he's spastic, high energy, and clumsy as hell. With possessed Stiles, he's an entirely different person. Every movement is thought out, cold, and terrifyingly calm.
Bellatrix Lestrange (Harry Potter)
She's insane and in love with the Dark Lord. Really, I think I just love crazy. I don't have a real reason, Bellatrix has just always been one of my favorite characters since I read the books. There's also the fact that Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix looks a bit like my favorite aunt.
Harley Quinn (DC)
Harley Quinn gives no shits. She's psychotic, but not at the same time. She's fully aware of the role she plays, but does it because she loves the Joker. I'm a romantic at the weirdest of times honestly. Yes, I am aware that their relationship is sooooo abusive. I'm not for their relationship abuse, I'm for the fact that it's interesting how far a woman will go for love. She's also insanely smart and amazing at gymnastics and fighting. She's unapologetically sassy and I love it.
Loki (Marvel)
Sass is what I love as well as a dash of insane. Combine that with the fact the person is still able to make wonderful points with logic that seem almost sane and they are also attractive, and I am sold. Loki is just someone I can't not love. Look at the other entries before this. I have an overall type when it comes to villains.
Scar (Lion King)
Okay, so I have three main Disney villain favorites, but I chose Scar since he was kind of my original favorite of the three. The other two are Ursula and Dr. Facilier. Scar is sassy and doesn't care, but also a bit more bloodthirsty than some of the other Disney villains. That's mostly due to the fact he's an animal though since they're a bit more bloodthirsty than us humans. He also has an awesome song performed amazingly by Jeremy Irons and Jim Cummings.
Beckett (Pirates of the Caribbean)
Beckett is an interesting character. He's cold, manipulative, and willing to stab his allies in the back if it benefits him. The thing I think that pushed him into one of my favorite villains was his death scene. He backstabbed others before saying it was just good business and when the tables were turned so that he was on the losing side, he didn't change his view. In the last gif, just before that, he knows he is screwed. His final words are him once again saying 'It's just good business' before he walks through his ship as calm and regal as ever. Just because he's about to die, doesn't mean he needs to sacrifice his pride. Also the entire scene of the ship blowing up around him is just beautiful.
Master/Missy (Doctor Who)
The Master is one of the Doctor's old friends and is also a Time Lord. His most recent regeneration is Missy (short for Mistress) and I love her. They're another character that is wonderfully insane and sassy at the same time. The first gif is actually them (Missy and the Master) dancing together because this is Doctor Who so of course two regenerations being in the same place isn't that big a deal. I also think it is absolutely beautiful that they kill each other, her kickstarting his regeneration into her and he killing her (technically himself as well) for good.
Saruman (Lord of the Rings)
These last two are going to be more of throwback villains for me. They are some of the ones that first made me realize that evil is so much more interesting. Saruman is my OG backstabber. Friends and family describe me as loyal which I am, but for some reason, I find betrayal to be so interesting. Also, Christopher Lee just has an amazing voice. RIP
Darth Vader (Star Wars)
Darth Vader is my mother's absolute favorite. Then again she loves Star Wars in general. I don't have any real reason for loving him besides he's just an OG baddie for me and he wears my favorite color...
That's all for villains even though I have so many more
Love you all and adios!
